Glorious History
Amar Jyoti Janata Higher Secondary School is located in Palungtar Village Development Committee (VDC), Luintel of Gortkha District of Nepal. It was born as a Primary School in 1960. After five years in August 17, 2065, school management committee got the approval from the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal to run the school as a high school and became Amar Jyoti Janata Secondary School.
The school was run under the management of the United Mission to Nepal (UMN) until 1975, when the education of the country was nationalized and the National Educational System was enforced all over the country. This school served as the people of that area as a government school till now. This year, it received an approval to conduct the 10+2 Science Classes form the Higher Secondary Education Board of the Government of Nepal and has become Amar Jyoti Janata Higher Secondary School.
